Art and Design & Technology ensure that the children acquire skills needed to investigate and make objects and artefacts. The children are encouraged to explore and develop ideas while they evaluate the processes they are going through when making their work.  Their success in these subjects is determined by their knowledge and understanding of making processes. These aspects are developed through collaborative work as well as individual work. We are looking to do the following:

• Investigating and making art, craft and design

• Use of Information Technology.

Art and Design & Technology plays an important role in our progress as learners.
In the Art, Design & Technology lessons children are stimulated creatively and imaginatively. The different tasks and challenges we encounter affect our whole personality, we can practice with our hands, our eyes, smell and at times even taste. We make use of colour, form, line, texture, pattern and different materials and making processes, to communicate our ideas on the physical environment, what we are feeling, thinking and even what we believe about ourselves as well as possibly suggesting changes we can make to improve.

In the design activities the children learn to make informed value judgments and aesthetic and practical decisions by exploring their own ideas; their peers; craftspeople; designers from Nigeria and world over. They learn about the diverse role and function art and design technology plays in contemporary life and different times in Nigerian culture. Our aim in Art, Design & Technology is to develop our understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the power of visual art to enrich our personal and public lives.
